AY2027 External Fellowship Intake Form

Please use this form to report your external fellowship(s) funding you expect to receive during the following terms:

Fall 2026 (September 1, 2026 - January 15, 2027)
Spring 2027 (January 16, 2027 - May 31, 2027)

This includes prorated rates of fellowships that do not adhere to these timelines (i.e., if your fellowship runs June 15, 2026 to June 14, 2027, please ask your granting institution to verify a recalculation of fellowship amount based on these dates).

What fellowships should I submit?

An external fellowship is funding that you have secured from sources outside of MIT. This includes:

government/federal fellowships (ex. NDSEG),
foundations (Hertz, Ford, Croucher etc.),
industry support (Google, Apple, etc.),
and any other non-MIT sources.

These are the types of fellowships you should be reporting through this form.

Please DO NOT submit fellowships awarded to you by MIT, the NSF GRFP, or the Krell Institute through this form. These include:

MIT

Presidential Fellowships (OGE has this information and will process)
OGE Competitive Fellowships (OGE has this information and will process)
Departmental/School Fellowships (ex. Mathworks, Takeda, etc. These will be processed by your department)
The Martin Family Fellowship (OGE has this information and will process)
DOE CSGF, NNSA LRFG, and NNSA SSGF Fellowships. (OGE will get this information directly from Krell Institute)
NSF GRFP (OGE will pull this information directly from the NSF Portal)
NIH Fellowships/Grants (coordinate with your department)
NASA Fellowships/Grants (coordinate with your department)

Please DO NOT submit sponsored research assistantships (ex. Draper Scholars Program, MITEI Scholars Program) in industry, corporate sponsorships or military benefits in this form.
